Join us to transform your understanding of movement & structure in this live masterclass. You will build your own tensegrity structures with our newly minted 36-strut tensegrity kit. You'll make mind-bending ‘floating’ structures that demonstrate interconnected kinetics and fundamental structural principles found at every scale of biology. We're talking from the molecular to the cellular to the daily movement of our whole bodies. Tensegrity is everywhere!

Your Instructor

Howdy, I’m Mike.

I’m an award-winning puppet artist with 18 years of experience creating collaborative events and objects that move with uncanny dynamism. As an inventor with two pending patents, I believe I've developed an intuitive system for building tensegrity structures—making complex concepts accessible to nearly anyone.

My journey from "supposedly smart kid with grades that claimed otherwise" to artist/product designer/engineer has been fueled by an intense desire to break down barriers to understanding. I sure didn't invent tensegrity (nature did that), but I've created a method that makes these endlessly fascinating structures a joy to build, to touch, and to play with.

My goal? To put these fundamental, but under-explored, principles into our hands— to gain a shared understanding of how our material existence is knit together. All this in the hope to build a more sustainable, balanced, and dynamic relationship with the structures and systems within and around us.
